MALVERNE, NY — The list of Democrats running for Kathleen Rice's congressional seat is growing. One of the candidates, Malverne Mayor Keith Corbett, stopped by "Patch AM" on Friday to discuss his reasons for wanting to serve in Washington. (See video below)

"First and foremost, we have to stop saying we're going to defund the police," Corbett said. "We need to provide real resources for mental health and social services."

Corbett is challenging Nassau County Legislators Carrie Solages and Siela Bynoe, and former Town of Hempstead Supervisor Laura Gillen for the 4th Congressional District primary.
