Lynbrook Appoints Officers at BOE Meeting

Details from the Lynbrook Board of Ed reorganizational meeting.

At its annual reorganization meeting on July 7, the Lynbrook Board of Education officially appointed its officers for the 2015-16 school year.

The Board appointed re-elected incumbent Robert Paskoff and newly elected trustee Lesli Deninno; newly elected trustee David Yaker was unable to attend the meeting. Trustee William Belmont was elected to serve as president of the Board, while Heather Hanson was re-elected to the position of secretary. After a split vote for vice president between Paskoff and Ellen Marcus, the Board tabled the vote until the Aug. 12 meeting, when the full Board will be in attendance. Alicemarie Bresnihan was appointed to serve as the Board’s legislative representative, while Hanson and Deninno were appointed as adult education advisor and PTA Council delegate, respectively.

After adjourning the reorganization meeting, the Board proceeded to the regular meeting agenda. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Melissa Burak announced that both Bresnihan and Paskoff had been recognized by the New York State School Boards Association for their commitment to attending conferences to advance their training.
