Lynbrook Native Launches 'FIX' Candles
Monthly subscription service sends soy candles right to your door with no shipping charges.
Lynbrook High School graduate Ryan Perlowin has announced the launch of his new company “FIX,” a subscription model candle company which delivers seasonal soy candles straight to your home.
The company’s featured subscription – similar to Birchbox – costs $15.99 per month and features three seasonal soy candles that burn for over 100 hours. The candles are crafted with all natural soy wax and cotton wicks, which is a much healthier alternative to the paraffin wax that is used in most other candles, Perlowin said.
“We want to be the most convenient way for you to discover your next favorite candle,” said Perlowin, who is founder and Chief Happiness Officer at FIX. “With its monthly subscription model, FIX focuses on ease of use – members receive their trio of candles without having to shop – and the chance for users to discover their next favorite scent.”

Once a user discovers a great scent, Perlowin said they’ll be able to purchase it year round in various containers and sizes at FIX’s online store.
“Candles have become a focal point of home décor, so our focus is not only on fabulous scents, but also on beautiful aesthetics,” said Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Britney Minnick. “We’re excited that a FIX candle will be a piece our customers are proud to display.”

Perlowin said that FIX candles make the perfect gift for birthdays, holidays and housewarming gifts. The company has also fielded much initial interest from the real estate community who see FIX as a recurring way to keep their presence in their clients’ homes, he said.
Another interesting part of the business is the fact that shipping is free on their subscription model.
“A lot of times companies will charge as much for shipping as they do for their products,” Perlowin said. “We want to add value – no need to huddle up the kids, get in the car, drive to the store and buy candles. We ship right to your door, for free. Our goals are to make your life easier and your home a more beautiful.”
