Lynbrook PD: $20K in Tires, Rims Stolen from Crown Ford

A weekly rundown of arrests and case reports from the Lynbrook Police Department.

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate guilt.

Arrests

  • On June 25 at 6:58 a.m., Ignacio Bravo, 35, of Hempstead, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, improper lane usage and no insurance on Peninsula Boulevard in Lynbrook.

  • On June 25 at 12:31 p.m., Garrett R. Herman, 37, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and obstruction of airway on Walnut Street in Lynbrook.

  • On June 25 at 7:06 p.m., Artie Alexander, 38, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with aggravated harassment at Lynbrook Police Headquarters, located at 1 Columbus Drive.

  • On June 26 at 1:40 a.m., Omar J. Roman, 31, of Glendale, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, no registration plate, operate out of class and equipment violation on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.

  • On June 28 at 9 p.m., Angel M. Padro Jr., 22, of Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of marijuana, failure to signal, no insurance and equipment violation on Vincent Avenue in Lynbrook.

  • On June 30 at 12:45 a.m., Charles W. Roman, 47, of East Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and unsafe lane change on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.

  • On June 30 at 8:15 p.m., Brandon Moir, 23, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with assault on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.

  • Case Reports

    • Grand Larceny: At 8:30 a.m. on June 24, the assistant manager of Crown Ford in Lynbrook reported that an unknown person(s) entered their storage yard located on Ocean Avenue and removed the tires and rims from five vehicles. The total amount of the tires and rims stolen was $20,346.36. The loss occurred between 5:15 p.m. on June 22 and 7:40 a.m. on June 24.  

    • Aggravated Harassment: At 10 p.m. on June 24, a complainant reported that an unknown person(s) has been calling and sending harassing, annoying emails to the complainant’s residence in Lynbrook. The harassment started on April 13, 2013.

    • Identity Theft: At 6:19 p.m. on June 27, a complainant reported that an unknown person(s) made three unauthorized charges on their Capital One Credit Card. The charges were in the amount of $50.25.

    • Petit Larceny: At 12:37 p.m. on June 28, a complainant reported that an unknown person(s) took their purse and its contents from the bus stop located on Broadway at the Lynbrook LIRR station. The purse, valued at $400, contained their New York State driver’s license and social security card.

  • Grand Larceny/Identity Theft: At 3:15 p.m. on June 29, a complainant reported that an unknown person(s) took their Michael Kors wallet from the counter area of Taco Bell, located at 548 Merrick Road in Lynbrook. The incident occurred at 1 a.m. The wallet contained $40 cash, a Chase Credit Card, a Bank of America Debit Card, a Victoria Secret Credit Card, a New York State driver’s License and a UMass College ID card. The complainant’s debit and credit card were then used to make three unauthorized charges in the amount of $142.27.
