Lynbrook PD: Teen Arrested, Clerk Charged With Selling to Minor

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.
Arrests
- Alan C. Sobel, 52, of East Rockaway, was arrested on July 6 at 8:54 p.m/ and charged with open warrants for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Unlicensed Operation, Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device and Petit Larceny on Wright Avenue.
- Nelson Rogel, 21, of Far Rockaway, was arrested on July 7 at 8:10 a.m. and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Fractured Windshield on Hempstead Avenue.
- Dilip M. Shah, 55, of Mineola, was arrested on July 7 at 9:05 p.m. and charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child at 393 Sunrise Hwy. The defendant, while employed as a clerk at Lynbrook Wine and Liquor, allegedly sold one 750ML bottle of Whipped Cream Smirnoff Vodka to a 16-year-old youth.

ID Theft: A complainant reported on July 2 at 7:05 p.m. that an unknown person(s) did file a tax return in their name and did receive a refund in the complainant’s name.
Criminal Mischief– A person reported at 11:11 a.m. on July 4 that an unknown person(s) did damage their PVC fencing, located on Hollywood Avenue, by spray-painting it with blue paint. The value of the damage is $400.
