Lynbrook Triathlon Tonight, Oceanside Brewery

• Triathlon Reminder: The "Fly with the Owls" children's triathlon will be held in Greis Park in Lynbrook on Thursday. Middle school athletes will swim at 6 p.m, followed by a bike ride and run in the park and through the Lynbrook exercise trail. All spectators are welcome to attend.
• Local Brewery: Looking to try something new locally? The Village Voice recently named Oceanside's Barrier Brewing Company as the best brewery in the area surrounding New York City.
  
• Bagels Are Coming: The former Bagels Plus in East Rockaway is undergoing extensive renovations as they set to re-open as Bagel Gourmet.
• Car Show: The weekly Lynbrook car show will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in parking field No. 20 behind Atlantic Avenue between Sunrise Highway and Merrick Road.
• Weather: From the National Weather Service, during the day: "A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. South wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms." At night: "Showers and thunderstorms likely before midnight, then a chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind 11 to 13 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible."
