Malverne Budget Passes; Joey Bottitta Re-Elected to BOE
Voters have decided on the proposed 2015-16 budget.

Malverne School District residents voted Tuesday to approve the school district’s $53.46 million proposed budget 588-237 votes.
The budget includes a 1.82 percent increase in spending over the current year and carries a 1.99 percent tax levy increase.
In addition, incumbent Joey Bottitta was re-elected to the Malverne Board of Education with 568 votes compared with Jan Kasal’s 223 votes.

A vote on the capital reserve proposition passed 559 votes to 211.
