Man Assaults Officer During Arrest At Nassau Bank: Police

WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY — Nassau police responded on Wednesday afternoon to a report of fraud at a Capital One Bank in West Hempstead, police said.

Officers were informed that Dao Sheng Hong, 37, of Brooklyn, was attempting to access funds from a restricted account, police said.

While officers attempted to place Hong under arrest, he became violent and combative, causing an officer's injury, authorities said.

The officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

An investigation revealed Hong had numerous fraudulent documents, police said.
He is charged with second-degree assault, obstructing governmental administration, two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and resisting arrest, police said.
