Man Caught Breaking into Garden City School Vending Machine

A man was caught on camera breaking into a vending machine inside a Garden City school early Sunday morning, according to Nassau County Police.

At 12:18 a.m., a man was seen on surveillance camera inside the school’s cafeteria. The man broke into one of the vending machines and took cash before fleeing, cops said. An employee later discovered the damage when the school was open.

The man was wearing a black jacket, olive t-shirt, black knit cap with a white logo, and dark pants at the time of the burglary.

Authorities believe the man has committed several similar burglaries around Nassau County.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the burglary to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
