Man Charged For Drunken Driving Crash With 4-Year-Old In Car: Police
Angel Castro Castro hit a parked car on Thursday evening in West Hempstead, police said.
WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY — A West Hempstead man was arrested for drunken driving with a young child in his vehicle, police said.
On Thursday evening, officers responded to the vicinity of Jackson Avenue and Wilson Street in West Hempstead for a crash, police said.
Angel Castro Castro, 31, was driving a 1999 Nissan when he struck a parked car, police said.

An investigation at scene determined he was intoxicated and Castro placed under arrest without incident, police said.
There was a 4-year-old boy in his vehicle at the time of the accident. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital, along with his mother, for an evaluation, police said.

There was no child restraint system in the vehicle, authorities said.
Castro is charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated (child less than 16), driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
