Man Charged in West Hempstead Bank Robbery

The man is accused of robbing a Hempstead Avenue bank Tuesday afternoon, police said.

A man has been arrested in connection with a Tuesday afternoon bank robbery in West Hempstead, according to Nassau County Police.

Frederick Rogers, 32, was located and charged Thursday after an investigation by Nassau and Hempstead Police Departments, cops said.

At around 1 p.m. Tuesday, Rogers verbally demanded money from a teller at Bank of America, located at 60 Hempstead Ave., authorities said. He escaped with an unknown amount of cash, cops said.

Rogers was charged with third-degree robbery and for violation of a parole warrant. He will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
