NORTH VALLEY STREAM, NY — Police in Nassau County said a man trying to kick open the door of a house on Arkansas Drive at 12:58 a.m. Friday fled when confronted by the homeowner.

The man drove away in a dark-colored Mercedes-Benz, police said.

Police described him as a male black with a thin build, wearing a cream-colored t-shirt, jeans and a light-colored hat.
