Mangano Celebrates Grand Opening of New Playground at Hall's Pond

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano was recently joined by Nassau County Legislator Vincent Muscarella, Hempstead Town Councilman Edward Ambrosino, community leaders and residents to celebrate the grand opening of a brand-new playground at Hall’s Pond Park in West Hempstead.

Nassau County began renovations in 2011 on the 11-acre park as part of an Environmental Bond Act project, the county said in a release. Improvements to the park included the installation of a new gazebo and amphitheater, improved fencing, lighting, trash cans, walkways, and water fountains. The County also installed a new catch basin filtration system to help keep pond water clean and clear, the release said.

“This playground is a beautiful and welcome addition to this wonderful park,” Mangano said. “Since becoming County Executive, I have worked tirelessly to make our parks system a top priority, and I am pleased that our improvements and new playground will be enjoyed by the local community for years to come.”
