A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries Tuesday night in an accident that occurred on the Southern State Parkway in West Hempstead. The responded to the crash around 8:30 p.m. on the westbound side of the parkway near Exit 18. Lakeview's 418 ambulance along with its chiefs were on the scene in less than three minutes. When they arrived they found a motorcyclist down and immediately assessed and triaged the victim. The injured biker, reportedly a 52-year-old man, suffered head injuries. A Lakeview ambulance transported him as a trauma patient to Winthrop University Hospital, where he was rushed into surgery. No further information about his condition is available.
