Long Island Swim School is the teaching arm of the nationally ranked Long Island Aquatic Club. Our Learn to Swim programs create strong, safe, and confident swimmers for life. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Long Island Swim School offers swim lessons for children ages 2 - 14years old. UPDATE 6 p.m.: Police say Kananiya has been found safe. Nassau Police are asking for the public's help to find a Hempstead teen who has been reported missing. According to detectives, 13-year-old Kananiya Meeks was last seen by her mother getting on a school bus Wednesday. She is described as black, 5-foot-4, 110 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing light blue jeans, yellow sneakers, black sweater and a black leather coat. Anyone with information should contact the Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911.
