Pair Robs $148K Worth Of Jewelry At Gunpoint During Nassau Heist: Police
The robbery took place in Valley Stream, police say.
VALLEY STREAM, NY â Two Brooklyn thieves were arrested after stealing jewelry valued at $148,000 during a gunpoint robbery at a Valley Stream store in September, police said.
According to Nassau County police, the robbery took place on September 18 at 8:02 p.m. at the Kay Jewelers located on Green Acres Road.
Alonso Simpson, 40, and Jahquan Williams, 28, entered the store and approached the female employee, 25, and asked her to look at a necklace, police said.

When the employee opened the display case, the thieves displayed a firearm and removed various jewelry items worth about $148,000, police said. The woman, in fear for her life, complied and the pair fled the scene on foot, police said.
After a thorough investigation, Simpson and Williams were located and place under arrest without incident, police said.

Simpson was charged with two counts of second-degree robbery; first-degree robbery; and second degree grand larceny, police said.
He was arraigned on Thursday, October 2 at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
Williams was charged with two counts of second-degree robbery; first-degree robbery; and second degree grand larceny, police said. He will be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead, police said.
