ELMONT, NY — After 15 years away from performing, Grammy Award-winning reggae singer Buju Banton will tour the U.S. this summer, including July 13 at UBS Arena.

Backed by The Shihoh Band, Banton's comeback is called "Long Walk to Freedom."

Adding to the UBS Arena celebration for fans, July 13 is Banton's birthday.

"I give thanks for life each day, but on this weekend, there is a special thanksgiving and I look forward to celebrating with all of my family, friends and everyone who has prayed and supported me over the years, he said.

Banton, 50, from Jamaica, will perform his world-renowned classic hits and beloved songs that have captured the hearts of many over the years.

"From his last show at Madison Square Garden in 2008 to now first show back in New York at the UBS Arena, it is with great pleasure to be a part of history," Dahved Levy, radio personnel at WBLS and host of Long Walk To Freedom-NY, said.
