Shooting At Lynbrook LIRR Station Sends 1 Person To Hospital: MTA
The investigation remains active for the shooter, a spokesperson for the MTA says
LYNBROOK, NY — Shots were fired at the Lynbrook LIRR station: Multiple 911 reports came in just before 8 p.m. on Saturday, with MTA police and the Lynbrook Police Department responding, officials said.
Preliminary investigation revealed evidence of gunfire at the Lynbrook station, including two 9mm shell casings — however, no victims or a shooter were found at the scene, a spokesperson for the MTA said.
At approximately 8:40 p.m., a 17-year-old male walked into a nearby hospital with a gunshot to the back of the shoulder, the MTA said.

MTAPD detectives responding to the hospital confirmed with the victim that the gunshot wound came from the Lynbrook station, officials said.
Further investigation at the station revealed one person appeared to target the lone victim, and it is believed there is no ongoing public threat, the MTA spokesperson said.
