The Week Ahead: Riesterer’s Rock Concert, Community Theatre Fundraiser

Free Rock Concert: Come out and support up and coming local musicians at a free rock concert in the Riesterer’s Bakery parking lot on Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The bakery is located at 282 Hempstead Ave. in West Hempstead. 

Sons of Italy Meeting: The Per Sempre Lodge #2344 Order Sons of Italy is looking for new members and will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday at 8 p.m. They are located at 381 Sunrise Hwy. and the entrance is in the rear of the building. “Come see the charities we are associated with and see if you would like to join.”

WH Rotary Club Meets: The West Hempstead Rotary Club holds a meeting on Thursday, August 1, 8:30 a.m. at the library, located at 500 Hempstead Ave.

The special program for the event is “Building Your Business: Perfecting the Elevator Pitch. Want to be able to promote your business where ever you are? The elevator pitch is the most important part of building your business. Learn how to make it exciting and informative.”

Community Theater Fundraiser: The Malverne Community Theatre Hosts a “Cocktails and Curtain Calls” fundraiser on Sunday, August 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Uva Rossa Wine Bar and Restaurant, located at 243 Hempstead Ave. “This year's event will be a celebration of our first year while helping to launch our second.”

Admission is $40 per person and includes great food, wine, and a performance of "Fairly Speaking" by local playwright Steve Strangio. All of the money raised goes directly to Malverne Community Theatre for the purpose of creating unique and exciting shows.
