West Hempstead Reaches First County Football Title Game In Decades
West Hempstead will take on North Shore for the Nassau County Championship on Nov. 18.
WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY — With their victory Thursday night, West Hempstead High School reaches its first Nassau County championship football game in more than three decades, Newsday said.
West Hempstead defeated Seaford, 36-20. They improve to 9-1 and advance to their first title appearance since 1986. The West Hempstead Rams haven't won the county game since 1982.
They'll face top-seed North Shore, who put their undefeated 10-0 on the line.

West Hempstead's only blemish this season came against the North Shore Vikings in Week 6, losing 14-7, Newsday said.
The championship is Nov. 18 at Hofstra University.
