
West Hempstead School District residents voted Tuesday to approve a $59.49 million budget 625-294 votes.
The budget includes a 3.95 percent spending increase over the current year and a 2.61 percent tax levy increase.
Board of Ed candidates Caitlin Close, Andrea Shinsato, and Patricia Greaves garnered 619, 609, and 609 votes, respectively, according to Newsday. All were elected after running unopposed.
