WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY — The West Hempstead Union Free School District has installed its upcoming board members.

At its July 1 reorganizational meeting, oaths of office were administered to trustees Byars Cole, Jeanine Gallina and Karen Brohm for three-year terms.

Following a nomination, Brohm was elected president for the 13th straight year. Joseph Magaraci was voted as vice president, while Awilda Cruz was sworn in as district clerk.

Additionally, the district made history as West Hempstead Secondary School student Morgan Hill was named as the board’s first ex-officio student board member. Kyle Grubstein was named as her alternate.
