Massapequa House Fire: 1 Dead, 3 Firefighters Hurt
At least one person is dead following the fire. Sources say there may be a second fatality, but it has not been confirmed.
UPDATE, 6:15 P.M.: Nassau County police have released more details about this morning's house fire, and confirmed that it claimed one life.
Police say the fire started on the Bayview Street East home at 11:39 a.m. When officers arrived, they found the house fully engulfed in flames.
The Massapequa Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze. During an investigation of the house, a man was found in a small room in the front of the home. He was pronounced dead by a Nassau County Police Medic.

Three Massapequa firefighters were injured in the fire. One passed out and another suffered a burn to his neck. They were both treated at the scene. A third firefighter injured his foot and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The Nassau County Fire Marshall and the police are investigating.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — A house fire in Massapequa Monday morning killed at least one person, with another still missing, according to sources.
The fire broke out in a home on Bayview Street East around 11:30 a.m. Police and firefighters responded to the scene.
There were two people trapped inside the home. One was confirmed dead, and another has yet to be found.
