Parents of young children will have a chance to make sure they're safer Saturday at Burns Park.
State Sen. Charles Fuschillo, R-Merrick, is sponsoring a free car seat safety check Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to noon.
Officials from the Nassau County Traffic Safety Board will be on hand to check the seats.
The Board says properly installed seats can reduce the threat of injury or death by 65 percent.
The checks will be done at the front west parking lot of Burns Park. To schedule an appointment, call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
