The Village of Massapequa Park is thinking of creating a police department.
Mayor James Altadonna announced this week that the village will put together a committee to look into the possible creation of a force.
The mayor sais that they are going to take a long look at the idea and said it would be at least a year before any action will be taken.
He also said it will only happen if it makes financial sense for the village.
