Massapequa Crime Report: North Massapequa Family Contacted by Kidnap Scammer

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.
Grand Larceny
On Dec. 3, a North Massapequa family was vitimized by a kidnapping scammer who has been operating since at least Nov. 1., police said. A man called the family claiming that a family member had been kidnapped, held hostage or involved in an auto accident. The caller then asks the victim to send money and threatened serious harm to the family member.

On Nov. 22, an aluminum dock gangway was stolen from the TOBAY Marina between noon and 7:30 p.m.

On Nov. 16, a car on Eat Shore Drive was broken into, police said. The thief took cash sometime between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.
On Nov. 29, cash and a cell phone were taken from a car parked on Old Sunrise Highway sometime after 9 p.m.
DWI
On Nov. 23, Sheila Howe, 53, of Toms Rovers NJ ,was arrested at Merrick Road and Seaford Avenue and charged with DWI.
On Nov. 23, Tanya Weisberger, 42, of Seaford, was arrested at Merrick Road and Seaford Avenue and charged withDWI.
Tresspass
On Nov. 20, Robert Pfeifer of Massapequa was arreted for trespass after cops say he entered a home on Biltmore Boulevard and bagan to yell incoherently, police said. He then allegedly exited through a window.
