Development in the Town of Oyster Bay

The Town postponed a hearing about a major hearing originally scheduled this week on a major development project. Does the town need more development or has their been enough?

This week's Oyster Bay Town Board meeting was postponed after concerns grew over a proposed development project in Plainview.

They were scheduled to hold a hearing on a plan by the Jericho-based Beechwood organization to build 850 residential units and commercial space on property in Plainview owned by Charles Wang.

The town had moved the meeting from Town Hall to a middle school in Plainview in part to accommodate a larger than normal of attendees.

But Town Supervisor John Venditto said the meeting was postponed after residents asked for additional time to review the plan.
