Driver Weaves Across 3 Lanes On Sunrise Hwy., Attempts To Flee: Police
Keven Pineda was arrested on Monday night on charges that include reckless driving, police said.
MASSAPEQUA, NY — A Roosevelt man was arrested on Monday night for a traffic incident in Massapequa, police said.
Keven Pineda, 18, was observed by police in a 2011 Ford Mustang, failing to signal and unsafely cutting across three lanes of traffic on Sunrise Highway by Old Sunrise Highway, police said.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Pineda entered a parking lot on Sunrise Highway and activated a device that covered the rear license plate before fleeing east on Merrick Road, police said.

Officers had already obtained the plate number before it was fully concealed and went to the Pineda's registered address, where he was located, authorities said. He was placed under arrest without further incident.
Pineda is charged with first-degree tampering with public record, tampering with physical evidence, and reckless driving, police said.
