Keeping It Holy

Admonishingly, we are all sinners.

The starkness of the statement may be quite unsettling due to its veracity resonating like a festering wound yearning for atonement and healing within the confines of our weighed down remorseful hearts eagerly and insufficiently gasping for respite.

With a never-ending stream of distracting options and overwhelming chores embracing and instigating our daily dalliances and cluttering our hypnotized minds, our focus is off.

Way off.

This skewed vision with a dash of convenient blurriness leads to a sinister opportunistic shift that disables personal culpability and debilitates spiritual and human connectivity.

If these selective obstructions are not halted and reconciled, this treacherous gap self-propagates more of the same and effortlessly minimizes past wrong-doings and insidiously justifies deliberate omissions that could have assuaged or rectified troubled relationships.

Turning a blind eye can be an unfortunate misstep that purposefully and erroneously negates a specific piece of reality and formulates pretensions and excuses that falsely diminish our guilt and liability, thereby transiently quelling an otherwise sorrowful conscience.

Eventually, there is a jarring rupture within this fabricated infrastructure, and the explosion tags and putrefies physically as well as emotionally, blemishing and inhibiting one on all fronts.

Sin is no joking matter; it leaves a deep mark.

The Good News is that Jesus came for the sinners and to alleviate spiritual blindness by transmitting His Glorious Light wherever it was welcomed.

Spiritual sightlessness is rampant nowadays with each party pointing a finger at another and ignoring each's own participation and causative factors.

Alas, it is always easier to recognize the splinter in the eye of another and yet be ignorantly oblivious to the wooden beam in our own (Luke 6:41-46).

Trespasses and transgressions originated in time immemorial and have ambulated with mankind as a burdensome third leg, leaving its foul and unmistakable footprint and unnecessary abominations throughout the sands of history.

We are all accountable whether on the fringe or embedded in the horrific discourse.

Temptation is ceaseless, imprisoning many as slaves to sin and fueling the spiritual war that rages and conquers susceptible people.

The pattern can be broken: Repent.

Repentance is integral to Lent and communing with God.

What's weighing you down?

Holy week is here with Jesus' triumphant arrival and warm welcome into Jerusalem.

Break free from the shackles of sin this penitential season with repentance and contrition, which will clear away the blindness and turbo-charge inner refinement.

Dear One, you are most valued by the Lord who only waits for you to signal Him back.

Contrition allows for cleansing, clarity, and consecration to emerge.

Contrition can liberate the enslaved, upgrading from cursed to consecrated.

"Be holy because I am Holy" (1 Peter 1:15-16).

As His Holy children we can do better.

Daily life consists of a repetitive chain of thoughts and behaviors, and with conscious effort they can be radically modified, changing everything.

It's time to be set free.

~"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord," Acts 3:19 ~
