LI-Based Food Drive Kicks Off With 1,800 Meals Worth Of Donations

The PSEG Long Island's Power to Feed Long Island will hold collection drives at Stop & Shop supermarkets across Long Island this summer.

UNIONDALE, NY — It was a successful start for a local food drive. An equivalent of more than 1,800 meals was donated at the PSEG Long Island's Power to Feed Long Island collection.

The May 24 drive was the start of seven events this summer at Stop & Shop supermarkets for the Island Harvest Food Bank.

  • Friday, July 12: 260 Pond Path, South Setauket
  • Friday, July 26: 95 Old Country Rd., Carle Place
  • Friday, Aug. 16: 3577 Long Beach Rd., Oceanside
  • Friday, Sept. 13: 365 Route 109, West Babylon

Residents are encouraged to drop off non-perishable food, personal care items and pet supplies to their neighbors in need.
