Long Island Weather: Beautiful, Sunny Week To Close Out The Summer

LONG ISLAND, NY — With school starting up again, this could be the last week of summer for many Long Islanders. Luckily, it looks like it will be beautiful and sunny throughout the week.

With the exception of a slight chance of showers on Tuesday, this whole week looks to be warm and sunny, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will be in the 80s all week, peaking with a high around 87 on Wednesday. Temperatures will drop into the low 80s by Friday.

The only rain in the forecast is for Tuesday. There's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening. Even if it does rain, it should be clear by Wednesday morning.

Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. South wind 6 to 11 mph.

Tuesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. South wind 8 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 87. West wind 7 to 11 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 66.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 84.

Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 61.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 81.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 68.
