Massapequa Firefighter Injured in Early Morning Blaze
Fire on Sunset Boulevard damages home.

A Massapequa firefighter was injured fighting a fire on Sunset Boulevard early Saturday morning.
The blaze broke out at about 1 a.m. and 40 firefighters from Massapequa and South Farmingdale responded, according to Chief Stephen Daresta.
A Massapequa firefighter had to be taken to a local hospital when a nail went through his boot. A woman who lives in the home was also taken to the hospital as a precaution. Both are expected to be OK.

The fire started on the first floor, which was extensively damaged. THe blaze was put out in about a half hour.
