Massapequa Firefighters Battle New Year's Eve Blaze: Report

MASSAPEQUA, NY — Firefighters were responding to a reported basement fire New Year's Eve in Massapequa. The blaze broke out Tuesday afternoon on Forest Avenue, near Michigan Avenue, according to a Facebook post by the Nassau County Fire Service Academy.

Photos taken at the scene showed heavy gray smoke shooting out of the home. Further details weren't immediately known.
