Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Massapequa

A man was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing Sunrise Highway in Massapequa on Friday night, police say.

According to authorities, the man was attempting to cross Sunrise Highway from north to south when he was struck by a 2015 Lincoln traveling eastbound, near Hicksville Road and Broadway, at 9:25 p.m.

Police say the man suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's identity is being withheld by authorities at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
