School Officials: Stranger Approaches Berner Students

Massapequa School District sends letter to parents after Thursday incident.

Massapequa School officials sent a notification to parents after a stranger approached two Berner Middle School students Thursday.

The two girls were waiting for their school bus  when a man driving a black, four door vehicle drove up to them, rolled down his window and asked the girls where they were going. He then asked them if they needed a taxi, and the girls said, "mo."

The man, who appeared to be in his 40s drove away from the corner of Euclid Avenue and Pacific Street when the school bus came at 7:30 a.m.

The driver is identified as a Hispanic male with brown hair and a "buzz cut" hairstyle.  He was wearing a black shirt and his vehicle had beach stickers all over the back window.

The Schol district said police have been notified about the incident
