Sept. 25: Yom Kippur Begins

Yom Kippur: Tuesday night marks the start of the holiest day of the Jewish calendar. Yom Kippur begins at sunset. It is a day of atonement that traditionally includes prayer and fasting. Massapequa Public Schools will be open Tuesday, but will be closedWednesday.

Voter Registration: Tuesday is also National Voter Registration Day. The League of Women Voters will do their part to make sure as many people possible exercise their right to vote. They will be on hand at the Bar Harbour Library to provide voter registration information from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Town Clerk: The Oyster Bay Clerk's Office will have late hours on Tuesday night. The Town Hall South office will remain open until 7:30 p.m.

Class Parents: The Fairfield Elementary School PA will be sponsoring a class parent tea from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
