Top Fire and Accident Stories of 2013

In 2013 we saw a fiery spectacular crash in a neighboring town that shut off a major roadway. We also saw an arson case and a tragedy involving an off duty cop.

Here's a look back:

• An off duty NYPD officer was killed in a crash on the Southern State Parkway in October.
• A huge tanker fire in Bellmore wreaked havoc on Sunrise Highway.
  
• The Seaford-Oyster Bay was also the scene of a spectacular car fire  in January.
  
• A fire at the Sunrise Mall led to an arson and burglary arrest.
• A sanitation worker was killed in a September crash.
• Another Town worker was honored as a hero after rescuing someone from a burning home.
