2 People Seriously Hurt In Escalator Fall At Long Island MacArthur Airport: Town
They were leaving the airport coming down the escalator at around 3 p.m. before being taken to Stony Brook, Islip town spokeswoman says.
RONKONKOMA, NY — An elderly man and woman were seriously hurt in a fall on an escalator at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma on Saturday afternoon, Town of Islip spokeswoman Caroline Smith said.
The pair had been leaving the airport, coming down the escalator at the East Concourse checkpoint at terminal owned by Southwest Airlines at around 3 p.m, when they fell down, sustaining critical, but non-life-threatening injuries, Smith said.
They were taken to Stony Brook Hospital for treatment of their injuries, according to Smith.
