Police Search for Man Who Stole Wallet

Thief took item out of car parked in Coram, used pilfered debit card in Centereach Walmart.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police’s Sixth Squad detectives are seeking help to identify and locate a man who stole a wallet in August.

On Aug. 8, the victim left his wallet in his Ford Explorer parked at PK Metals, located at 3542 Route 112 in Coram. A man entered the vehicle and removed a wallet containing personal papers and a credit card.

The following day, the thief used the victim’s debit card to withdraw cash from an ATM located inside of the Walmart at 161 Centereach Mall in Centereach. The man was described as wearing tan-colored shorts, a gray T-shirt and glasses.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
