3 Teen's Necklaces Forcibly Removed At Nassau 7-Eleven: Police

MERRICK, NY — A 7-Eleven in Merrick was robbed over the weekend.

Marquis Jacobs, 41, of Hempstead, walked into the store located at 203 Sunrise Highway just before 11 p.m. Saturday. He approached three male juveniles and displayed a knife, police said.

Jacobs forcibly removed the victim's necklaces and fled eastbound on Sunrise Highway, authorities said.

Officers located Jacobs nearby and placed him under arrest without incident, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Jacobs was charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree robbery, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and three counts of second-degree menacing.

He was expected to be arraigned on Sunday.
