Cops: 2 Men Slashed, Stabbed in Freeport
Two men slashed "for no apparent reason," police said.

Two men were the victims of a random slashing in Freeport early Sunday morning, according to Nassau County Police.
At 1:35 a.m., the two victims, aged 24 and 28, were walking on N. Main Street just north of the Freeport Long Island Rail Road station when they were approached by an unknown man, cops said.
Then, “for no apparent reason,” the man slashed one victim in the chest and stabbed the second victim in the abdomen, authorities said. The man did not speak or make any demands during the attack, cops said.

Both victims were rushed to Nassau University Medical Center following the attack, cops said. They were treated for non-life threatening injuries before being released, police said.
Detectives described the slasher as a 25-30-year-old latino man, stocky build, and was wearing a white shirt with black stripes and a baseball hat.

Police are asking anyone with information about the assault to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
