Jeep Hits Pole In Nassau; Passenger Critically Hurt: Police

UNIONDALE, NY — A pre-dawn car crash caused a serious injury when the vehicle struck a pole in Uniondale on Saturday, police said.

The collision happened on Jerusalem Avenue and Liberty Street. The blue 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was discovered by officers overturned after hitting the pole.

A 35-year-old passenger had to be removed by police. He suffered severe injuries and is listed in critical condition, police said.

A 45-year-old man, who was also in the vehicle, was spotted walking nearby. He was transported to an area hospital.

Police are investigating.
