Koslow, Rhoads Join Lakeside School For Veterans Day Ceremony: Photos

The ceremony is an annual occurrence at the school.

MERRICK, NY. — Veterans Day came early to Lakeside School this year, as the Lakeside PTA, staff, students and families were joined in a ceremony by Nassau County Legislator Seth Koslow and State Senator Steve Rhoads.

The ceremony began with the presentation of colors, and included proclamations by Koslow and Rhoads in honor of the present veterans. Music teacher Jeffrey Glemboski led students in the performance of patriotic songs, before principal Libby Trencheny and assistant principal Chris Colarossi presented biographies of each veteran being honored. Included in the list of honored veterans were local politicians, staff members and some family members of Lakeside students.

“We take the time to enjoy and appreciate the peace and freedoms afforded to us as Americans,” Trencheny said. “Lakeside roars due to the continuous courage of our veterans.”
