Out-Of-State Fugitives Spotted On Southern State Pkwy: Troopers
The two men fled from the highway and crashed into another vehicle before being taken into custody, state police said.
NORTH MERRICK, NY — Two fugitives fled a traffic stop in a U-Haul truck Tuesday evening on the Southern State Parkway near the Wantagh Parkway, state police said.
As the vehicle fled, it crashed into another vehicle as troopers pursued on Merrick Avenue at North Jerusalem Road, police said.
The two occupants in the other vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries, including broken ribs and a leg laceration.

The U-Haul came to rest on Benjamin Avenue in North Merrick. Passenger Antuan Mansfield, 31, of North Carolina, was taken into custody. The driver, Bryant McGlawn, 29, of Philadelphia, was arrested with the assistance of Nassau County Police.
Both McGlawn and Mansfield are charged as fugitives from justice. Mansfield also faces two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.

McGlawn also is charged with third-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree unlawful fleeing and leaving the scene.
They were expected to be arraigned on Wednesday.
