HEMPSTEAD, NY — A pair of state roads in Nassau County are getting an overhaul, Governor Hochul announced on Friday.
It's part of a two-year, $18 million project to renew 60 lane miles across Long Island.
Resurfacing will start next year on the Meadowbrook Parkway between Sunrise Highway and Merrick Road.

Work will also get done in 2025 on Newbridge Road between Jerusalem Avenue and Hempstead Turnpike.

"Roads from one end of Long Island to the other are being rejuvenated which benefits all users of the transportation network - allowing people and goods to get to their destinations safely," Department of Transportation Commissioner Marie Therese Dominguez said.
