14-Year-Old Girl Shot, Police Asking Public For Assistance

The teenager is currently listed in critical condition, according to the City of Newburgh Police Department.

NEWBURGH, NY — Police are looking for information about an overnight shooting that left a 14-year-old girl fighting for her life.

The City of Newburgh Police Department says that officers responded Friday night, around 8:30 p.m., to the area of 119 South St., after an alert for gun shots fired.

Police found a 14-year-old girl with a gunshot wound and immediately began life-saving measures. She was taken to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.

The child is in critical condition, according to police.
