15-Year-Old Arrested Following Razor Blade Slashing At High School: Police

A 14-year-old student was taken to the hospital by family members following the violent altercation at Valley Central High School.

MONTGOMERY, NY — A fight at a local high school ended with one of the students involved being slashed with a razor blade.

The assault took place at Valley Central High School on Thursday, when an altercation between two students resulted in injuries to both.

One of the students was cut with a razor blade, according to police.

The situation was quickly contained by Town of Montgomery Police Department school resource officers, security guards, and the Director of Security, officials said. Town of Montgomery Police Department officers also responded to the scene.

Although an ambulance was called, police said, neither student was taken to the hospital. However, a 14-year-old student was taken to the hospital by his family.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested by Town of Montgomery police. He was charged with second-degree assault, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The teen was issued an appearance ticket to appear in family court and released to a parent.
