3 Critically Injured In House Explosion In Hudson Valley

Two young girls and a man were taken to Westchester Medical Center where they are listed in critical condition.

THOMPSON, NY — Three Sullivan County residents, including two young children, were critically injured when a propane leak caused their house to explode Saturday.

The New York State Police said, around 12:20 p.m. Saturday, emergency responders were sent to 14 James Place in the town of Thompson for a report of a house explosion.

Authorities said the house was demolished and several neighboring homes were damaged.

The cause of the explosion was a propane leak, police said.

Three people in the home were seriously injured and taken to the Westchester Medical Center.

They are Robert McDowell, 36, Jessie Mackerly, 5, and Savanah Mackerly, 9. They are listed in critical condition with multiple injuries.
