3 Die In Overnight Fire In Orange County
Authorities are working to determine the cause of the fatal blaze.
MONROE, NY — Three people were killed in an overnight house fire in Orange County.
The Monroe Police Department said it responded shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday along with the Monroe Joint Fire District to 44 Highland Ave. in the village of Monroe for a reported house fire.
When police arrived, they found a fully engulfed house fire.

Neighbors told authorities on scene that the residents of the house were possible still inside.
However, because of the heavy fire, police officers were unable to get inside.

As soon as firefighters arrived, they immediately began trying to put out the blaze and trying to rescue anyone who might be inside
When the fire was extinguished, three people were found dead inside the home.
Authorities said the names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Monroe police detectives said they are working closely with the Orange County Fire Investigators, the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Monroe Joint Fire District to determine the cause of the blaze.
The Monroe Police Department were assisted at the scene by the New York State Police, Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Monroe Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Kiryas Joel EMS and Chavivim.
Police said the investigation is continuing, and additional information may be released at a later time.
