3 NYC Men Stole Medications From Dutchess Walgreens: NYSP

Police said the men jumped over the pharmacy counter and took the medications.

LAGRANGE, NY — Three men from New York City were accused of stealing medications from a Walgreens in Dutchess County.

The New York State Police said, shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, troopers, along with investigators from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, were sent to the Walgreens on Route 55 in the town of Lagrange for a report of a robbery.

A preliminary investigation found that three men entered the store and jumped over the pharmacy counter.

Police said they stole numerous medications and then fled in a black Toyota Camry.

No weapons were displayed during the incident, authorities said.

Troopers said they spotted the Camry on the Taconic State Parkway near Carpenter Road and tried to initiate a traffic stop.

The vehicle didn’t comply with the stop and then crashed at Pudding Street on the parkway.

All three men fled from the vehicle on foot and were apprehended a short time later.

They were taken to Westchester Medical Center for evaluation of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The men were identified as Darryl A. Odom Jr., 25, of Manhattan, Jason Wade, 21, from Brooklyn, and Bahkeem Cooke, 22, of Brooklyn.

Odom and Wade were charged with third-degree robbery and third-degree burglary, felonies, and fifth-degree conspiracy and petit larceny, misdemeanors.

Odom is also wanted out of Bergen County, New Jersey, and New York City. Wade is wanted by New York City.

Cooke, who was the driver of the Camry, was charged with third-degree robbery and third-degree burglary, felonies, and fifth-degree conspiracy and unlawful fleeing, misdemeanors.

The trio was arraigned in the Town of Lagrange Court and were released on their own recognizance with a return date of Nov. 15.

Wade and Odom were turned over to the New York Police Department on outstanding charges.
